Action Plan

Me and Stephanie have all of our trailer footage that we have trailer that we acquired over the last 4 months when me and Stephanie first visited our setting together.  For the upcoming week, we are focusing on our print product that we plan to advertise on the Empire front cover. We are both visiting the set and bring our female actor Emma Dixon to get a more appropriate shot because our last shot were not as appropriate as we thought. This is because none of our can actually be used in a way many others seem to. We plan to create a magazine cover of similarlarity to the Eden Lake poster (2008), we plan to have our main actress stood looking mischievous yet innocent. This is very important to our film as there is a major twist at the end which no-one will expect, thus is we make our actress look innocent but to an extent mischievous, the audience will know that there is more than meets the eye. We have been doing research on recent empire magazine covers and many of them seem to be posed, however, there is no horror posters that look purposely photographed, so we plan to have one similar to the Shining poster that i posted earlier, where it in fact an action shot from the film, but is being used as magazine cover. This is all because if they looked to posed then the film wouldn't look scary and it would take that edge away.

Over the next week, we plan to edit the photograph to make it suitable for our trailer, being clearly an action shot but suitable for a professional magazine cover. We plan to use editing techniques such as tint to make the picture and the atmosphere seem darker considering it is a horror film. We plan to make a clear link between the film and poster, thus making the film more memorable.

Working along side this, i am currently working on credits in after affects with Darren (as he knows how to use the software better than me). We are using the main colours of Red, Black and White.
White - Text, Font - Castellar
We plan to use this as it is a very bold/simple looking font which doesn't draw the attention away from the trailer to much however it stands out enough to get the text across to make the audience remember the writing.

Black - The back ground to give an ominous effect.

Red - we are putting what the software calls particles into our credits, these move around the screen and makes them look almost like blood. Thus linking into our project perfectly.
In the next couple of weeks we aim to finishes our video, as we still need to include our title, some more editing effects and some movie captains. We also have a few more shots to make up the missing time. In the next couple of weeks, we are also going to start planning our evaluation answers and we will post them on our blog as we go.
