Project - Trailers, Music Video, Short Film.

Brief 1 - Music Video
Brief 2- Trailers
Brief 3- Short film

BRIEF 2 -Trailers

Me and Steph Martin have decided to work in a group for our A2 project.
We have chosen to brief 2, Trailer.
The genre we have chosen to focus on is Horror, which we are very familiar with due to the fact that for our last project we focused that around this specific genre.

Currently we are getting some consumer feedback for the specific codes and conventions that should be in our trailer. Steph is producing a questionnaire containing questions about trailers and genres to help us meet the consumers expectations. It will be handed out to students/teachers and family members this will be helpful due to the fact we can have a big sample and can exclude any out liars.
Hopefully doing this it will make our trailer more successful and realistic.

1.  What do you expect to see in a trailer?
        Main actors
        Music
        Distributor
        Wide range of shots
        Fast pace
        Name of the film
All people who answered this questionnaire circled all of the above, apart from the fast pace, this is because it is specific to the genre of the trailer... At this point the audience we've asked don't know what the genre of our film is yet. We just wanted their general opinion on what is needed within the trailer.
2. What makes a trailer appealing to you?
11/20 people pretty much implied that they're more attracted to a trailer if it has a lot of fast paced action within it, and memberable music within it.
The 9/20 amount of people said that it's the characters within it, the bigger the star the bigger the impact.
3 . What genre of film creates the most appealing trailers?
        Horror
        Action
        Comedy

The answers given by the select people we asked were mainly horror, action and comedy.

All answers summed up are:
Music - related to the film otherwise pointless.
Actors - Would be considered boring if it doesn't include main characters
6 . Does a good use of music or the soundtrack in the trailer make a large influence to whether you want to see the film?
18/20 people asked said that the music is really important, it enables them to make a psychological link between the film and the music, therefore if they hear that song they link with the film, also if they link the music being use they are more intised to see the film because of the music.
